Kissed by Katie

Kissed By Katie is a South African pop rock band. Pretty enough to pull it off, gritty enough to have come from Durban. Formed in 2009, Kissed By Katie have already raked up high profile performances with the likes of The Otherwise, Stealing Love Jones and Dilana from the American TV show Rockstar Supernova.

Brett Botha on lead guitar brings an electric edge, Matt Williams on rhythm and Jethro Snyders on drums found musical merriment with Katie. Her bass guitar and raspy voice force feminine boldness into the all-boy backline. She began by performing at open mic nights with Esjay Jones (of Stealing Love Jones fame). Brett brings a punk-influence borne from a love for Red Hot Chili Peppers. Matt began by playing in various Durban based bands, although they were short-lived, it's where he learnt to make memorable riffs. Jethro is general gig eye candy and is the beat behind the band.

Together, Kissed By Katie are a slick new sound in the South African rock scene, leaving their lyrics lingering in minds and on mouths.
